Myeloma Canada

This year, High North has chosen Myeloma Canada as its charitable recipient.

Since 2006, Myeloma Canada has been dedicated to improving the lives of those affected through research, education, and patient support. The organization’s goal is to find a cure and raise awareness about this disease, working relentlessly to advance treatment options and support the myeloma community.

What Is Myeloma?

Multiple Myeloma is a rare and aggressive blood cancer, still has no known cure.

Also known as Myeloma, is one of the most common form of blood cancer. Myeloma attacks a type of immune cell called the plasma cell, found in the bone marrow.

The causes of Myeloma are still unknown. However, certain risk factors may
influence the chances of developing Myeloma. These include age, race, gender, family history, and prolonged exposure to chemicals, pollutants, radiation, pesticides and herbicides.

Over 30,000 Canadians today live with Multiple Myeloma, and many more are diagnosed each year.

The High North Fore20 Charity Golf Classic has proudly raised over $70,00.00 for deserving charities since its inception. Each year we strive to raise the bar for this event to better support those in our community, funding life-saving treatments and research.
